BAASS Tech Hub is a program run by Bendigo Autistic Advocacy and Support Service.
BAASS Tech Hub is a technology club for autistic 8-17yo computer enthusiasts.

BAASS Tech Hub sessions run through the school terms -finishing the weekend prior to the last Friday of term.

The Tech Hub program offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore and experiment with various forms of technology. Above all, we promote fun amongst meaningful experiences and learning in an accepting and supportive environment.
Support and guidance through mentoring and sessions amongst participants of a wide age range offers an authentic and organic learning process in many areas including, but not limited to:
Wellbeing and Self- Regulation
Language
Learning
Social Skills and Community Access / Participation
This absolutely amazing program provides an opportunity for supported exploration and expanding of interests and passions, with an overall focus on fun!
Tech Hub supports participants and family relationships by providing opportunity for parents/carers to engage in their interests and self-care which enhances the child/youth - parent/carer relationship. Children/youth and parents/carers can utilise Tech Hub sessions as invaluable time to engage in and connect with their own interests and reduce overall stress - to better nurture child/youth and parent/carer relationships.
**Important** BAASS receives some funding from Carer Support Services of Bendigo Health.
As part of our funding agreement, some client details will be provided to CSS for funding purposes.
These details are subject to strict privacy legislation as well as BAASS and Bendigo Health Privacy Policies.

- Language, vocabulary, terminology, pronunciation
- Reading, word recognition, logic skills, reasoning, questioning
- Communication using non-verbal cues and language, hidden curriculum
- Expression and alternative communication-typing, sound, headsets
- Conversation, pragmatic language skills
- Technology as an invaluable tool for communication and accessibility
Learning
- Number concepts, graphs, levels, scores
- Mixed ages promotes exposure to varying concepts and skills within supervised supportive environment

- Freedom to explore and experiment with new equipment, explore interests and passions for authentic and meaningful learning
- Imagination, creativity, problem solving, prediction, co-operation,
- Digital literacy- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
- Exploration and experimentation with a vast range of equipment and skills such as coding, programming, constructing, animation, editing, filters, gaming, circuitry, soldering, new technology equipment, and concepts around these such as copyright, internet safety- and much more!
- Hand-eye coordination, multi-tasking, spatial skills
- Multi-sensory engagement and learning- blended learning styles facilitates naturally occurring extended focus, self-motivation and authentic learning, self-determined pace

Social Skills and Community Access / Participation
- Social skills through interactions based in a supportive, low pressure environment
